Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership skills, a deep commitment to child welfare, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the children’s home.
Provide leadership, support, and supervision to the staff team.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
Develop and implement individualised care & behaviour plans for children and young people.
Competition of Reg 44 & 45.
Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children.
Manage and monitor staff performance, providing training and development as needed.
Participate in safer recruitment and selection of staff.
Work in partnership with external agencies, professionals, and families to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Handle administrative tasks and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
2yrs experience (minimum) in a residential childcare setting, including supervisory experience.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
A willingness to study towards Level 5 in Leadership & Management.
Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
A passion for supporting and advocating for children and young people.
Full UK Driving Licence
