Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home in Kempston. The Registered Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, promoting a positive culture, and providing strong leadership to the care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the residential children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are maintained.

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a dedicated team of staff, providing supervision, guidance, and support.

  • Develop and implement individual care & behaviour plans and risk assessments for each child, ensuring their needs are met effectively.

  • Maintain effective communication with children, families, external agencies, and professionals involved in their care.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment that values diversity and respects the rights of children and young people.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery, implementing improvements as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential children’s home setting.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification) or working towards.

  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted legislation, regulations, and best practices in childcare.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve complex issues effectively.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
